Philosophy of ESOL
Philosophy of ESOL
I believe in culturally responsive teaching in today's classrooms. There is a very large, diverse makeup of the students in America's education. It is essential that we create a welcoming environment in our classrooms to encourage those students who are learning to speak and write in the English language. I believe that it is important to create a physical environment in the classroom that displays a wealth of cultures. My classroom will preserve my ELL's native language and cultural customs. Also, it is important to be familiar with ESOL student's IEP or language goals in order to accommodate them and provide differentiate instruction.
